AVAILABLE FROM MUNICIPAL COURT STAFF
Court staff can provide:

The status of a
specific case, unless the case (or any information in the case) concerns a
juvenile.
· Allow you to review the court file on a specific case, unless the case concerns a juvenile.
· General information on Court rules, procedures and practices.
· Court-approved forms.
· Information on deadlines and due dates.
· Court schedules and scheduling.
· Copies of Court records, per authorized Open Records Policy.
Court staff cannot:
·
Give advice about
whether you should act on a particular case or what particular action
you should take on a case.
·
Fill out a form for
you or tell you what words to put in a form.
·
Advise you what to say
in court.
·
Speculate about what
decision the judge might have or what sentence the judge might impose.

Court staff does not provide legal advice. If you need legal advice, please contact a lawyer. If you do not have a lawyer, you may wish to
call the Attorney Information and Referral Service of the State Bar of
Wisconsin at 1-800-362-9082 for the name of a lawyer.
Remember – The Court, including the Judge and all
Court staff, must remain impartial.
They do not take sides in any matter coming before the Court.
